Carnegie is pleased to announce their support for Kaufman Center, a multi-art organization. In partnership with the Center, Carnegie has donated exclusive designs in their Renew upholstery line to the Merkin Concert Hall. Carnegie’s donation has made possible the much-needed refurbishment of seats in Merkin Concert Hall. A critical requirement of the renovation was to preserve the signature acoustics in the Hall. Extreme care had to be taken in the selection of new upholstery material. The seat fabric had to be environmentally sustainable, resilient, attractive, and it needed to pass rigorous acoustic tests. Renew met all the stringent criteria and is now installed in the Merkin Concert Hall.
